Hello and thanks for visiting this page.
LENs continues to grow, building networks and partnerships in expanding regions. However, we want to keep improving.
That’s why we’re strengthening the systems and processes which enable the collaboration that’s at the heart of LENs’s success.
We’re introducing some new steps that will help to provide you and other farmers with a clear understanding of what to expect from LENs. This covers everything from your eligibility for LENs and the measures involved, through to technical support and payments.
You can find more information about the improvements, process changes and benefits for farmers below.
To accelerate further and faster, we have to ensure that our systems and processes are as resilient as we want our landscapes to be.

LENs Interim Co-CEO
What improvements have we made to the LENs model?
1. Outcomes
We’ve made changes that will enable a greater focus on the outcomes we all want to achieve.
In practice, this means that LENs will define and filter the most sought after and impactful measures, to provide proposal creation guidance.
2. Optimisation
We’ve optimised the LENs trading cycle for all stakeholders.
We’ve introduced proposal structures and incentives to better enable cost sharing. We’re signposting public-funded options to create greater access to complementary funding for regenerative agriculture.
LENs will also optimise budget allocation between funders, saving time for all involved.
By being more focused on outcomes, we foresee the trading and contracting cycle shortening.
3. Support
We’ve introduced a ‘Regen Pathway’ to provide greater clarity to farmers.
In practice, the Regen Pathway will help you to identify concrete steps you can take towards a more resilient farming system.
It will also enable LENs to better understand and track progress on the journey from conventional to regenerative farming practices across the region.
This will enable us to provide you with targeted support as you move along the Pathway, and reward you as you do so.
What changes should farmers know about?
1
Farmers will gain access to a proposal support tool, which will allow farmers to create proposals that are more likely to align with the needs of the demand partners.
2
We’ll use existing data from our monitoring, reporting and verification processes to inform the proposal support tool.
3
As part of the Regen Pathway, we’re introducing a per-hectare payment. Once a farmer reaches a certain stage on the Regen Pathway, depending on their funder, payment could change, and be made on a per-hectare basis. This will provide flexibility for farmers, and an outcome-based payment for the funder.
4
Even with the per hectare payment, innovation and certain specific measures (funder-eligibility dependent) will continue to be available on a per measure payment basis.
How do these changes benefit farmers?
1
The changes will provide you with greater clarity on which measures you are eligible for, based on your ‘regen profile’ and your eligible funders when you enter the trade.
2
For returning farmers, we can utilise the previous year’s data to advise on the next package of measures available to farmers.
3
If funding has not been secured, we will also be able to more clearly articulate why.
