Landscape Enterprise Networks (LENs) is expanding to our 10th region, after securing funding to develop a new network in the Hunter Region of New South Wales. In partnership with SEAOAK Consulting and Macka’s Australian Black Angus Beef, LENs will bring together farm businesses and interested organisations from a range of sectors to deliver climate change mitigation and environmental benefits across the landscape.
The AU$500,000 project is part of the Government of New South Wales Low Carbon Landscapes Grant Program, which aims to support the development of projects that drive high quality carbon abatement in the primary industries and land sector. The LENs team is excited to launch this new chapter of landscape network and resilience building in the Australian context.
“Expanding beyond Europe is a significant milestone for LENs, something that we have been building towards over the past 12 months. The LENs model is built to be place based, and to deliver tangible outcomes for all stakeholders- for farmers, businesses, government and communities, so we are looking forward to working with SEAOAK and Macka’s Beef to establish LENs in the Hunter Region”.
Donald Lunan, LENs CEO
This new phase of the project will build on scoping and feasibility work undertaken by SEAOAK in 2025, and comes following the appointment of SEAOAK as the LENs Australia operator earlier this year. The Low Carbon Landscapes Grant Program is set to run until mid-2027.
