LENs achieves Farm Data Principles certification

12 March 2026

We are pleased to announce LENs certification under the Farm Data Principles certification scheme, described as ‘a community dedicated to upholding the highest standards in farm data governance.’

LENs has received a full certification, demonstrating that our processes for handling farm and farm business data are robust and transparent, ensuring it is clear to farm businesses how data is used and for what purpose.

Established in 2023, Farm Data Principles Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation. The certification scheme aims to foster trust in data sharing while safeguarding farmers’ interests.

The Farm Data Principles certification scheme is governed by clear and robust principles, ensuring that data originators, primarily farmers, retain control and ownership over their data.

Cat Wallis, LENs Impact Director explains why certification matters, saying:

“It’s important that farmers can trust LENs to use their data with integrity and care. The evidence we collect at farm level is critical to delivering LENs, as it allows us to prove and verify the impact we’re making.

“This certification also shows potential new partners that we’re dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our data handling principles to remain aligned to industry best practice.”
